BERLIN FASHION WEEK - LOOK 4

Lois Opoku Streetstyle lisforlois
What's up guys?
Just wanted to show you my final look for Fashion Week. I've got to be honest, I'm feeling completely demotivated penning this post. I do not know what words, what topic, what message, to choose to accompany this post. In fact I should just leave this text field empty. But it would be a mirror of the complete opposite of what's going on in my head.
Unclear. Unfocused. Uncontrolled.
Ironically this post seems unclear, unfocused, uncontrolled..

I think I've never been in such a confused state of mind. Emotionally, mentally.

Mein Leben steht am Rande des Umbruchs, wie der Cursor am Ende einer Zeile.

I'm listening to Xavier Naidoo's greatest hits right now (if you don't speak German - imagine the most sentimental life will go on, you're not alone, I love you more than words can describe - love and motivation songs wrapped in the most eloquent words one can imagine accompanied by the most beautiful harmonies and melodies..) Yeah that's me right now.. I'm also wearing sweatpants. King Karl would infamously say I've lost complete control of my life. I think he is right.

You probably just clicked this post because you're interested in what I'm wearing...
Scroll down.

BERLIN FASHION WEEK - LOOK 3

Lois Opoku bomber jacket Streetstyle fashion week lisforlois
For my third look for Fashion Week I decided to go a little more.. well a bit on the boys side. I've been inspired a lot lately by one of my fav instagirls Aleali May. She's been wearing a lot of oversize bomber jackets in very androgynous cuts, mainly by my Adidas fam or Y3, which is a high end label from Adidas by Yohji Yamamoto. Her style itself is quite androgynous and she's rocking it.
I played with the masculine silhouette of this huge bomber coat I stumbled across on ASOS, mixing it with a sexy mini skirt to show off my legs, but kept the rest of my skin tucked away in a turtleneck. The details: tassels to keep it all a little fun.
Was I cold, you wonder. No, I was driven everywhere that day. Haha! Perks of staying with the girls of Blogger Apartment! (I did however make the biggest mistake of my life. Thinking that I'll be driven everywhere, I wouldn't need a pair of changing shoes i.e. flat shoes. No. Don't ever leave the house without a pair of flat shoes. EVER. Unless you are Mehtap. Then you are another type of Queen. You probably heard me whine like a pussy on Snapchat every second snap - add me LoisOpoku)
The top bun is very "every dumb bitch on social media ever"; Granted.
But.. sorry not sorry.
What do you think of this look?

BERLIN FASHION WEEK - LOOK 2: LEATHER CULOTTE AND A DESIGNER JACKET

Lois Opoku fashion Week Streetstyle Grey Coat Leather culottes lisforlois
This is by far my favorite look of this season's Fashion Week. I wore it on the last day, so yeah technically this is day 4, but my following fashion week posts are in no particular order which is why I'm just going to be labeling as they come to keep things in order here on the blog.

As I said this was my favorite look, mainly because I got to wear this stunning jacket by designer VANESSAMORIN. I stumbled across her label through my homie Jean-Claude's Instagram and immediately fell in love with some of her key pieces. We got in contact and she allowed me to style this piece to fashion week. It was perfect for layering while still being the center of attention of the entire look. VANESSAMORIN is a Munich based Designer and manufactures her pieces in Europe. She even worked for Parisian fashion house Damir Doma after design school, but her label itself is what I would call clean and contemporary, casual yet luxurious.  "A woman wearing VANESSAMORIN appreciates and never loses the lightness of being."
Go check out her amazing label. I'm keeping an eye out for her as I can't wait to see how her label will evolve over the next years.

BERLIN FASHION WEEK JANUARY 2016 - LOOK 1

Lois Opoku fashion Week Streetstyle Winter lisforlois
Fashion has come and gone in what seemed like a blur! I pretty much did all the shows with my partner in crime Phillip who helped me take all the pictures this season and I was part of the Blogger Apartment project (more on that later!).
Brace yourself for a few fun posts from Fashion Week. This time I hardly attended any events and I pretty much bailed on all parties. Shocker! I know right? But I had a lot of fun peeking behind the scenes and being able to get a lot of backstage access.
I was able to concentrate on the designers and their work rather than all the tata tata and heckmeck and fake glitz and glam around it. I selected a handful of designers I was really interested in seeing and a got a whole new perspective being able to watch from backstage as it all unfolded.
People still belittle Berlin Fashion Week. Yes, it's not Paris, nor London or anything close to New York.
But Berlin is Berlin and it has a few gems to offer.
Here is my first outfit. But brace yourself for more to come..

BRIGHT COATS BUT TRACKPANTS

Blue Coat Winter style Bruno Banani Lois Opoku lisforlois
I'm loving this bright blue coat that I got from Otto. It is perfection to cure the winter blues. Sounds ironic. It's not.
It took me a while, but Otto surprisingly has a few hidden gems tucked in their online shop, waiting patiently for you to uncover them. Patience is the key word. Look through it with time.
Also I've been pretty much living in these sweatpants I got from Footlocker during the press days. It's an exclusive to footlocker piece and it's made winter so much more bareable. You'd probably associate sweatpants with a lazy-at-home look or as King Karl would say: "if a woman is out in sweat pants she's lost control over her life."
Who said sweatpants couldn't be chic?
I, for one, am regaining control of my life.
Yes, in sweatpants.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

 Lois Opoku Christmas lisforlois
IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR!

Hope you enjoyed the festive seasons with your family, friends and loved ones and christmas time was good to you. Yesterday we celebrated my dads birthday and christmas of course. We had some long time family friends over and their kids and it basically was a full house. I celebrate like the British - on December 25th. But that didn't stop my phone from blowing up on Christmas Eve with texts and love notes from my friends, because they do it the German way - on Decmber 24th.
On Christmas Eve my family went to Church and I had a blast (my snapchat followers seemed to have had too! But the children's choir performance and the Stomp The Yard meets Step Up 2 The Streets Church rendition was quite entertaining! The kiddies funny actually. Add me: LoisOpoku).
After that we went home and just had a very little quite dinner in peace.

RESERVED

Camel Coat reserved brand Lois Opoku lisforlois
Hi Guys,

How are you? How have you been? I could tell you how crazy it is that it's almost Christmas or how yet another year is almost over or how cold the weather has become. Water is wet. But then again I would rather tell you something you don't already know..
Sometimes I don't have anything to say, nothing to write about to accompany my posts.
Nonetheless I want to share my pictures with you.

A look I shot a couple of weeks back with Lori featuring one of the pieces I picked out from Reserved. Paired with my all time favourite camel coat, my new favourite golden frames and some ankle booties.
All good.

ONE OF THOSE SUMMER DAYS.. AND MEMORIES

Umami Berlin Opening Lois Opoku Louisa Rachor lisforlois
I was going through pictures on my external drive, my laptop and flickr account. I found so many unpublished pictures and stories, so many finished and barely started scraps of what were supposed to be blog posts for you. Stories, reminders, memories for me. A journal and account of my life for us.
So much has gone lost, stuck in internet limbo because I never finished typing my thoughts, or unready to hit the publish button.

Among those I found these pictures. I still remember that day vividly. It was the opening of Umami Berlin, tucked in side street behind SoHo House. (Dikjubi had successfully opened his little restaurant - Umami. It's really good!) The taste of his mini burgers and the conversations we had. How especially pretty I thought Louisa looked, the sound of Lisa's laugh in the middle of a conversation and the exact temperature of that day on my skin.

BUSINESS LADY

business look women Lois Opoku lisforlois
Hi guys,
So here is the full outfit post for the picture I posted on Friday on Instagram as part of the #GentlemanFriday campaign for the movie "The Intern" auf deutsch Man Lernt Nie Aus (Go watch the movie!!! It's so so good).
The first thing I associate with a Gentleman is a suit. Classic. Mostly a business man. He's educated, well mannered and knows how to treat a lady. He has values and principles. And class.
There's nothing more attractive than a man in a suit.

As part of the #GentlemanFriday I was asked to interpret a female look.
A lady. My mind instantly wandered to a woman in body con dress, not too short - that length that grazes the knees, simple yet elegant. Funny thing, again I associated being a lady with being a business lady, educated, strong, a level of sophistication and class. It's the way she carries herself, not just her groomed outer appearance but also her beautiful well kept soul. She is her own boss. She is strong on so many levels. But above all she is a do-er and she works endlessly. If it's from her office at work, at home keeping her family together or building her own business step by step online or elsewhere. She follows her dreams. She is the modern lady.
I've always looked up to that woman.

I've always looked up to that woman. She is my ultimate #goals. Although with the change of society and what's viewed as business, endless startups and more and more casual attire at the workspace, I still associate anything Rachel, Donna and Jessica wear on Suits(best freaking show ever! Lord please send me a Harvey Spectre!) with a classic business lady.
It has something to do with sophistication and being decent. With a level of class. With tradition.
There's nothing that beats a clean look. And a man in a suit!
..Except for a man in a suit with stubbles!
Oh that makes me weak. *sigh*

Have a wonderful evening!

EXCLUSIVE: MONSTER x CHANEL - LUXURY MEETS MONSTER SOUND

Monster x Chanel headphones Lois Opoku lisforlois
The first glimpse of the exclusive collaboration of Monster and Chanel was first seen on the runway in Paris of Chanel's Fall 14/15 collection in Karl Lagerfeld's famous Chanel Supermarket installation. After Swizz Beatz and King Karl posed for a picture on Instagram everyone was talking about them.. and the hideous 12 000$ Chanel shopping basket. By that time I had long had confirmation that Monster was indeed working on a Chanel heaphone and I couldn't wait to see the product. Then the hype about the headphones died down a little. One week ago at IFA was the first ever official press reveal of the luxury headphones taking Monster to a whole new level. And I was one of the only few to lucky enough to be present.

SUMMER ON A BOAT WITH PFLANZENFREUDE.DE

Lois Opoku white dress summer lisforlois
A couple of week back, we got very lucky in Berlin. Well summer has decided to return this week, but that day, the sun decided to grace us with her presence after weeks of rain and Pflanzenfreude.de took us on a boat trip across the Spree. What a perfect day to wear white, Joeva and me did not .
I wore my white dress I got on a little shopping spree with Domi and Mali to Forever 21. It's the perfect summer mini dress. Cute, flowy and a sweet front detail. I chose to wear espadrilles, simple, comfy and still chic, especially navy striped espadrilles or chanel look-a-likes (my personal favorite).
It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of fun. Some of you followed my story on snapchat (loisopoku), you know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry, but you just can't suppress your inner Beyonce ;P
Surrounded by pretty flowers and plants, endless cups of froyo + fruits, summer lemonade with the sun kissing my skin as the swift breeze of Berlin's Spree cooled my face - a moment of total bliss.
You know that tingling sensations on your skin? That's summer.
If every day could start like that... *sigh*
Thanks for having me on board, Pflanzenfreude.de - Thanks for filling my morning with a little more Freude (def.: happiness)

STUCK IN A PHASE OF "I HATE MY BLOG.."

Lois Opoku Nümph print pants lisforlois
Time is a funny thing.
Looking at the time stamp on my latest post. 35 days ago... wow. This is the longest time I've gone without blogging. If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen I'm still attending events, still embarking on adventures and little stories, so still a lot of content to blog about. The blank space that has been growing and stretching out uncontrollably here as if exponential, you see, was not due to lack of content. But rather to a sense of my own unhappiness, ever growing dissatisfaction, discontent and finally disaffection with this space.
When there is no progress, no growth (not in terms of followers but rather self growth and in terms quality), no development I feel at unease. Yet time is ticking (way too fast), this space is getting older but it's not growing up. It feels like it's staying an infant child forever, stuck in one developing stage, impossible to advance.
That's what gets me.

ALL FURRED UP

fur winter look outfit zara guess lisforlois

What's up guys?
How have you been holding up in the new year? Fashion Week is just around the corner and I'm finishing of some last arrangements and finalizing some projects.
Just wanted to share an outfit with you guys. It's very casual and I can guarantee you it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to get ready.
The look is simple, really.
A pair of ripped jeans, an oversized blouse loosely tucked into your favorite pair of jeans and a fur coat to keep you warm and cozied up. Paired with some black kitten heels it becomes casual with a touch of glamour or elegance if you will. And finally a beanie to keep your ears all warm.
No Make Up, no stress. (Had to fill in my eyebrows! Doesn't count).

It's all good.

Off to finish of last emails and prepare next week. It's going to be buys and eventful. Very eventful.. But you can guess, I mean it's fashion week.
Sending love to wherever you're reading this from. Enjoy your day! See you around.

Love Lois xxx

SEPTEMBER SUMMER

Palazzo pants kitty flats Streetstyle Lois Opoku
Been enjoying the last couple of days as summer decided to finally make an appearance. It's hard to believe it's October already and I'm turning 21 in 4 days. This year has passed by so quickly. It feels like my last birthday was just a couple of weeks back, but a complete year has passed. A complete year.
University is starting again in a week plus minus a couple of days, but it'd be like it's starting in a few hours given how I perceive time these days. Is it just me or is it like everything is sped up? Life is sped up? It's like life is stuck on rush hour. Like your thumb is stuck on the 4x fast-forward button on the remote control and there is no way to release it.
Time is not what time used to feel like.
This year I'm just gonna go through with uni, go to all classes, write all exams. Get it over with. Before I know it I'll have my bachelor degree in Business IT. It will feel like a few weeks. Life and time is passing me by and I have a hard time making the best out of it. Living in the now. People alway say "Live in the present! Enjoy every Moment"
How do they do it when you've lost complete feel for the measure of time. I for one feel in complete dissolution with time.

L IS FOR LOIS X MEXX

Lois Opoku x mexx lisforlois bw outfit fashion
I've teamed up with Mexx to celebrate the opening of their brand new store in the new Mall of Berlin at Leipziger Platz. Having worked the best job evaaa at LP12 last weekend, I am already a huge fan of the new Mall. It's so big, it's easy to get lost in it for some hours of shopping. There is no store you won't find there.
As for Mexx, it's situated not far from the entrance, perfect. I had a look at their latest collection with their lovely team during the opening. I instantly fell in love with this blouse. Classic, white, and a very timeless cut - elegant yet super cute thanks to the dotted holes as the perfect little detail. It's the beginning of fall and fall beginning always makes me feel like bringing out my all leather pants. In a classic black and white look I combined my new Mexx blouse.

HIDDEN FOUNTAINS

Lois Opoku Summer Outfit Berlin lisforlois
Summer is definitely coming to an end in Berlin, although we enjoy the occasional hot days every now and then which were truly missed during the actual summer months and honestly it feels like August again. Something like September Summer?
I'm loving the backdrop of today's pictures. This huge ass fountain completely out of place. I have walked passed it. Several times. Often actually.
Anytime I'm on my way to my best Friends house after gym.

Sometimes you walk through the world, blind, completely shutting out your surroundings, and then you open your eyes and discover treasures. Treasures that have been there all along. Treasures you've seen ever so often before, but never took a minute to appreciate. And sometimes you happen to have you're camera along with you and you can capture those places, that moment.
It looks like I'm in Bali right? Oh Bali, I so desperately want to discover you.
This is my little Bali getaway right here in Berlin.
This is as close as I'll get to Bali this year.
I'm coming for you next year, Bali.
I've started saving.

GREEN SHAPES AND REFLECTIONS

Lois Opoku green dress Michael Kors bag lisforlois
These shots were taken right after my morning at the Uniqlo store for the Ines de La Fressange collections launch and my awesome afternoon with Levis. I'm totally loving the reflections in the huge windows, perfectly matching to one of my favorite dresses. This dress is a piece from the last ASOS Africa collection. I got it at the ASOS sample sale where every dress cost 5€! (So lucky I grabbed it before Hadnet Tesfai (truly beautiful German TV personality), because she was really digging that dress and couldn't stop complementing me on my find.) Btw I never really revealed what I end up buying at that Sample Sale, but this is one of those dresses. Trust me, Sample Sales are THE B.E.S.T.

A SATURDAY ON A ROOFTOP

Dream now Lois Opoku black white look monochrome lisforlois
I spent Saturday with Mali, Tissi and Joeva at the Blogger Bazaar. The entrance fee of 8€ was way too much, but we kinda hung around until 8 downing as many Ciroc drinks and Haägen Dasz Cookies & Cream as we could and chilled out on the roof top until we made amends that there was no way we could get those 8€ back or make it worthwhile. Kudos to the girls from Blogger Bazaar for organizing everything and making it happen, no doubt, but those 8€ were definitely too much for an entrance fee. Especially if you were planning on going to actually shop there you kinda already left a lot just at the entrance. Nonetheless I had fun with my girls and I was really happy we could convince Mali to waste some cash as well and come hang out with us.

SUNSETS, SAUDADE AND STREET ONE

Saudade Street One Lois Opoku lisforlois
Sunsets.

Saudade. One of my favorite words I've ever heard of. Just like Serendipity. I used to wonder why my super hot husband Neymar used this word so often on his Instagram along with long messages and pictures of people who I assumed to be dear ones of his. So I googled it and kept that word in my heart ever since. Its meaning so hard to translate but beautiful as the sound of it.
This currently one of my fav T-Shirts and I'm really proud to wear it. Not only because it says Saudade but because it was designed by my friends Desi & Nisi in collaboration with Street One during a recent blogger workshop and sort of press preview. I've been practically living in this T-Shirt. According to comments this shirt is highly in demand and I sincerely hope Street One decides to reproduce some more.

Street One. If I think about Street One, I don't exactly think "fashion forward!" or "yeah must go

HELLO YOUTUBE!!!

Okay this has been a step I've been thinking about for a looooong time. Trust me, I have considered stepping into the Youtube world since the end of last year. Well actually about a year ago just before my trip to L.A. I told and he suggested Youtube to me and kinda inflicted that thought within me. Then I started helping Nisi filming some of her videos and it really became something I seriously considered.

Now I've finally done it. I took the step.

Here it is. The next step. And I'm ready for new adventures and creating new content. New kind of content. You'll finally get to see me in action. I decided to start with an outfit video, something I do on my blog already anyway, just that it's in motion this time. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. So let me know what you think about my first video, which I couldn't have done without the help of my friend Nisi.

Do you like it? I really hope you do. Because I really enjoyed making it.

For outfit details, head over to my new channel: Lois Opoku and watch the video Outfit of the Day - Waterfall Skirts and Leather Jacket on Youtube. You'll find everything in the description box and I've directly linked a few items incase you want to shop them. Oh and hit the "thumbs up" and "subscribe" button while you're at it. It'll make me really happy.
Ahhhhh...
Okay. Okay.

Oh and just a piece of advice, whatever you've been planning or considering on doing, may it be this week, the last couple of months or right this second - JUST DO IT <3
